A Problem for High Schools: More Cars, and Nowhere to Park Them

This may seem shallow but is worth the read. Access to their car and the ability to park it close to campus is providing safety in a number of ways - refuge (a quiet place to do homework, text, and talk), the ability to leave campus at will, and social status. How many times have you heard questions about parking on campus? This is why.

Leading in Turbulent Times: A Survey of Presidents

Inside HigherEd published their 2018 Survey of College and University Presidents, and one big takeaway is about 1/3 agree with the statement that “the perception of colleges as places that are intolerant of conservative views is accurate.” We’re hearing a lot of questions on tour about the political climate, and our prediction is “Is this a Trump campus?” may become the most frequently asked question in the next few years. Remembering 1968: How an upstart primary challenge ended a presidency

When on campus, we often talk about how Generation X became Generation X. The 1968 election played a pivotal role in shaping the country and the generation. So much collapsed, was challenged and ultimately divided. This CBS Sunday Morning segment will give you a little more insight into the Gen X parent.

Parents' inspiring paint job helps elementary students 'look for joy' in school

Two things colliding: aesthetics matter (especially bathrooms) and a stressed out Generation Z. These parents took matters into their own hands and helped give a dull bathroom an uplifting makeover. It’s a testament to how a space can be given a whole new look with some paint, thoughtfulness, and authenticity.

Miami University (OH) and the Miami Tribe of Oklahoma partnered on a collection of apparel in their bookstore to honor their relationship and collaboration. We love the authenticity of this memorabilia (it stands out among the usual bunch of college tee shirts), and it has a socially conscious layer. Kudos to the team at Miami!
